Summary: The in-plant Cleaning Technician is responsible for every aspect of the rug and upholstery cleaning process as well as customer interaction with great service and sales. This position will report to the Plant Supervisor.
On-site M-F: 8am - 4:30pm
Compensation: $18 / hr
Key Area 1 – Cleaning Department
Determine cleaning cycle based on due dates, additional services ordered and special projects that will need extra time to complete.
Communicate with other departments regarding additional services on area rugs that are being processed.
Clean facilities and restrooms.
Provide additional work on area rugs with problem areas such as stains, browning, etc.
Measure and cut area rug padding according to order.
Maintain workflow and ensure timelines are met.
File completed rugs according to company policy and guidelines.
Provide assistance in field on pickups, deliveries and in home services.
Key Area 2 – Customer Service and Sales
Provide excellent customer service to walk-in clients and pickup orders.
Educate and build positive relationships with customers.
Inform clients of services needed on area rugs by providing them with a professional assessment.
Provide assistance in field by taking detailed photos, measurements, inventory, and notes.
Assist customers with loading or unloading of area rugs and/or items being dropped off or picked up for service.
Key Area 3 – Staff Interaction
Interaction with other staff members and managers is a vital role. You must conduct yourself professionally at all times to maintain cohesion and the ‘teamwork’ atmosphere. You will be responsible for training future employees. Determine any problems that may arise and report them to your direct manager for resolution if they cannot be solved on your own.

Learn basics for upholstery cleaning
o Fiber ID: What is it made of
o What issues does that kind of fabric have
o What stains or soil are present
Pickup and Delivery
How to write an invoice, measure and inspect rugs, price of cleaning, etc.
Collect payment and offer upselling of services
Tag items and track order from start to finish
Keep van clean inside and out
Make sure van has tape measure, tape, blankets, etc.
Master Textile Cleaner
1. CCT [Carpet Cleaning Technician]
+ UFT [Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician]
+ OCT [Odor Control Technician] or RRT [Carpet Repair and Reinstallation Technician] or CRT [Color Repair Technician]
2. JTC [Journeyman Textile Cleaner]
Certified with the IICRC for a minimum of 12 months

4. Certified with the IICRC for a minimum of 3 years
