Now we are expanding into maintenance/installations ensuring our projects get properly maintained on a routine basis to keep them looking great and an enjoyable space for our clients.
About the Role
The Landscape Maintenance Crew Member will support our maintenance team. This position will be responsible for the safety of themselves and those around them. This crew member will follow directions from the team leader, install landscape materials, and maintain our client’s outdoor spaces. The goal of this team member would be to safely maintain our client’s outdoor spaces while also gaining an understanding of our processes and how SGL approaches maintenance.
The Position
Knows and follows all company safety, personnel, and procedure policies.
Follow the direction of the supervisor to satisfy job requirements.
Safely and efficiently assists in maintaining landscapes
Gain knowledge in common horticulture and landscape maintenance practices
Assist with loading and preparing in the evening for the next day.
Tracks hours accurately by clocking in and out for the end of day as well as breaks.
Maintains a clean and professional work site, truck/trailer, and uniform.
Assists with proper securement of equipment for transport.
Assists in punctuality of start and end times, breaks, and lunch periods.
Represent the company with professionalism and with good public relations.
Adapt to various working situations.
Perform additional required and incidental activities.
Ability to work well with all crew members and multiple supervisors
Communicates well with the Supervisor and Operations Coordinator
Job Requirements
· Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50 pounds on a regular and consistent basis about the work site.
· Requires extended periods of activity including walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of work day.
· Time in the field 100%
· Employee will be frequently exposed to exterior elements (pollen, cold, heat, wet conditions etc.)
· Experience in the landscaping field is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
· A team player with a positive, open, and adaptive attitude
· General understanding of gardening and plant maintenance preferred.
· Excellent work ethic and dependable/trustworthy
· Must reside in SF East Bay
Hours & Compensation
Position will be paid hourly (dependent on experience)
· Initially 24 hours / week with opportunity to grow
