A loving and devoted Mother is looking for a supportive nanny to assist her with raising her children. The nanny will collaborate closely with the mother, following her lead in nurturing and guiding the children through their formative years. They will assist her by establishing a safe and stimulating environment for the children and must be willing to take direction and work under her close supervision. They are also expected to help around the house, ensuring a tidy environment, assisting with errands, and handling other miscellaneous requests. Ideal candidates are adaptable, flexible, easygoing, team oriented, intelligent, reliable, and bring a happy and calm feeling to the home.
This is a live-out role; the family requires the nanny to be available from Thursday to Sunday. However, they should be prepared for schedule changes and adaptable as needed. They will primarily work at the principals' residence in Woodside, CA, but should be ready to travel with the family on vacations and day trips, with advance notice provided.
Location: Woodside, CA with flexibility to travel as needed
Hours: Thursdays/Fridays, 7am-7pm/ Saturdays/Sundays, 9am -5pm; 40 hours per week with flexibility to work longer hours when traveling
Salary: Starting at $40 per hour dependent on experience
Benefits: 10 days PTO, 5 sick days, Major federal holidays
The Family: Dad, Mom, 3 kids (3 yr. G, 1 yr. G) plus a baby on the way due in October
The House: 3 acres, 8,200 sq ft total for the buildings; main house, guests house and gym. Total 6 bed, 8 bath
The Staff: a housekeeper/nanny working Monday-Thursday; a cleaning service once per week; plus, some vendors e.g. external gardeners/ pool maintenance; and a night nurse for the first four months once the baby is born
General responsibilities:
Looking after all daily care requirements, including dressing, meals, activities/play, nursery runs, bath time, bedtime, etc.
Assisting with educational development (i.e. engaging them with language development, and eventually homework, school projects, etc. as they get older)
Keeping age-appropriate toys safe and in good working order
Ensuring zero screen time for the children, and ensuring they are kept busy with other activities
Disciplining the children when appropriate in a manner consistent with parents’ philosophy
Assisting the mother in teaching and promoting excellent manners
Knowing when to step-in and step-out
Cleaning and Laundry:
Tidying the children’s bedroom and play areas to ensure all games, books, toys, etc. are picked up, cleaned, and stored in their proper location
Tidying the kitchen after preparing meals
Laundering, folding, and putting away clothes for the entire family
Supplies and belonging:
Ordering supplies, uniforms, clothing, books, toys, etc. as needed and donating those no longer used
Restocking necessary childcare items
Supporting the Family and Team:
Helping the mother with all childcare responsibilities
Contributing to the smooth running of household where possible (i.e., answering doors, greeting vendors, etc.)
Running errands as needed (i.e., picking up dry cleaning, grocery shopping, etc.)
Preparing for, and traveling with, the family as needed
Requirements:
Strong command of English language; good communication skills, both written and verbal
A clean valid Driver’s License, with own car to travel to/from work, run errands and pick up and drop off the children to classes/activities
Legally able to work within the United States
Lives in the surrounding area
Happy to travel with the family as required
Minimum 3 years working in a similar role
First Aid/ CPR trained
Must be happy to be vaccinated (Covid, Flu, TDAP etc)
Ideal if experience working with babies
Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
Happy to sign a confidentiality agreement and non-disclosure agreement before starting work with the family
