Job Summary: As part of HIP Housing’s effort to provide affordable housing solutions in San Mateo County, we are seeking a dedicated, self-motivated, and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team to manage the Rotary Floritas property located in San Mateo County.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible, under the direction of the Property Manager, for the overall maintenance in meeting the needs of the property. This would include a variety of tasks such as inspecting buildings, maintaining inventory, janitorial duties, and a wide range of repair jobs. This person will interface and work with company employees and outside contractors and interact with residents and visitors.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance
- Prepare vacant units listed on the “Show Apartments” list as per the Unit Turnover checklist.
-Complete all work orders in Yardi in a timely and proficient manner (work orders may include plumbing, electrical, caulking, flooring, drywall, appliance repair, and painting).
-Perform rehabilitative work on vacant units.
-Complete unit turnover repairs and unit make-ready work within five (5) days of vacancy.
-Respond to emergency calls during designated evening and weekend on-call hours.
-Keep a detailed inventory of maintenance and janitorial supplies, including tools and equipment managed by the property.
-Coordinate with the Property Manager in maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule.
-Inspect the property on a regular basis for items in need of repair or unsafe conditions.
-Perform ad-hoc duties assigned by the Property Manager.
Janitorial
-Prepare the Rotary Floritas office for daily opening.
-Vacuum and clean floors in the office and throughout the building.
-Keep vacant units clean and in rent-ready condition.
-Clean windows throughout the building.
-Clean restrooms, recreation areas, laundry rooms, trash rooms, common areas, and parking lot.
-Report all safety hazards or building problems to the Property Manager within 24 hours of their discovery.
Qualifications:
-Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience required; general repair experience is important
-High school graduate or equivalent, preferred
-Strong attention to detail
-Strong verbal communication skills
-Must have basic knowledge of supplies, materials, and chemicals commonly used in property management maintenance and repair
-Knowledge and understanding of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
-Must have reliable transportation, with a valid CA driver’s license and proof of insurance
-During the workday, the Maintenance Technician may be required to push or carry items up to 100 lbs frequently, stoop, reach, twist, kneel, bend, squat, climb flights of stairs, and walk on uneven ground
Salary and Benefits:
