We are looking for a full-time technician to work in our Berkeley Environmental lab service center. Clients drop off soil, water, and air samples, we prepare and ship them overnight to the main lab for analysis.
Air samples require the use of specialized but simple equipment. We have thousands of pieces of such equipment in stock and each one must be tracked carefully. We are looking for someone to stock, inventory, maintain, and dispatch this equipment.
Coordinating orders and available inventory will require some familiarity with email and spreadsheets, as well as written communication skills.
Any experience with inventory is appreciated, including that learned in food service and retail settings.
The equipment is clean and easy to handle. Some tool use will be required, but anyone who has ever installed a doorknob, worked on a bicycle, or changed oil is trainable. The job does not require professional mechanic experience.
Aside from equipment duties, this technician would assist elsewhere when needed to complete time-sensitive tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Maintaining and managing equipment
-Label and process the samples
-Sample information entry into the laboratory system
-Assembling container orders
-Driving for deliveries
Qualifications:
-History of full-time employment with references
-Valid state issued driver's license to drive company vehicles
-Background screening and drug test required
-Proficient basic computer use (email, spreadsheet)
-Able to communicate effectively verbal and written
-Not scared of wrenches and screwdrivers, or the desire to get over it if you are!
Hours: 10:00am-6:30pm, Mon-Fri.
Compensation: $20.50/hr plus overtime and benefits, depending on experience.
