Thriving Reform synagogue in San Mateo seeks a part time custodian who can work approximately 15-25 hours/week, mostly Friday-Sunday. This opportunity is not only available for individuals with prior cleaning experience; it is also open for individuals who can provide our desired qualities as a member of a dynamic team. If you have an eye for detail, are reliable, have an excellent work ethic and can work unsupervised as well as a part of a dynamic team this might be the opportunity for you.
Schedule (some flexibility)
Wednesdays 5-9pm
Fridays 5-10pm
Saturdays 10am-4pm (occasional additional late-night hours)
Sundays 11am-5pm
Position Summary:
This position reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for providing for the overall cleanliness of the facility and set up for Temple programs, events, and activities.
Essential Functions:
Maintain assigned areas in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition by performing work assignments in an effective manner.
Perform assigned tasks as instructed by supervisor either alone or with a team.
Position Requirements:
Knowledge of custodial duties (cleaning rooms, bathrooms, etc)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work both unsupervised and with a team
Demonstrated organizational skills
Qualifications:
Must be dependable
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Someone who enjoys cleaning
Must be able to show proof to work in California
Must be able to pass a background check
