Job Summary:
We are seeking The Lead Day Porter will support the Operations Manager with on-the-job training for new employees, Safety, Supply Inventory Control, Time & Attendance, and HRIS requests. This position will also provide coverage gaps for team members who are scheduled to take vacation or have called out sick or no showed. The Lead Porter will conduct site inspections and engage employees to ensure team members report promptly to their respective scheduled sites and are performing their duties to contractual standards.
Duties
Assist with training team members on how to complete job tasks efficiently & effectively.
Assist team members with the onboarding process and understanding the basics of clocking In and out of their work shifts as well as clocking out for lunch and clocking back in after lunch.
Serve as coverage when there are gaps in job site due to team member being out (i.e., sick, vacation or other reason for no coverage)
Suggest or recommend site specific job or task list that applies to a site with approval from the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
Assist on training of equipment use, equipment maintenance and safety expectations.
Advise when other employees do not have proper PPE and or are not wearing appropriate safety attire.
Participates and attends employee meetings and / or safety meetings as scheduled.
Be prepared to execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner.
Ability to read and understand given instructions and execute as directed including over text and e-mail communications.
Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies and cleaning tools.
Responsible for tracking and filling log hours spent at locations, including mileage if applicable as directed by supervisor.
Fills out required on site paperwork and reports as needed or at client’s request.
Perform site inspection of employees on a routine basis and ensure “Attendance” and that employee is on site during their scheduled days and times.
Responsible for showing up to scheduled location on time. A work truck will be provided. In emergency situations, might be required to use personal reliable transportation but will be compensated for mileage in accordance with the California Labor Code section 2802(a)
Responsible to ensure team members are maintaining personal appearance according to company dress code guidelines with at least one (1) item always displaying the USS logo.
Always treats customers, patrons, and visitors at any site serviced with respect and carries self in professional manner.
Responsible for contacting direct manager when any extraordinary events are found on site. Including any hazards or liabilities
Responsible for cleanliness, appearance, and maintenance of assigned equipment and tools. Equipment may include a company assigned vehicle in some instances.
Notifies supervisor in advance when absence or inability to show up on time for shift occurs at least 4 hours before scheduled shift.
Any company vehicle assigned or used by the Day Porter Lead will be required to conduct pre and post trips inspections each day to document all items on vehicle are intact, safe, fluids topped off and nothing needs attention or is broke
Experience
Strong leadership and coordination skills for post-event chaos
Comfort working nights/weekends and high foot-traffic environments
Ability to quickly dispatch or fill gaps in porter staff
Experience with exterior lot sweeping, trash management, and Solution driven Pro active management high communication and Timely, PUNCTUAL
Capability to train, inspect, and motivate porters on-site
· Able to work in all weather conditions this is an outside position this is not a position where you will be inside of the stadium.
