We're hiring a part-time Field Technician & Equipment Manager to support specialized construction defect investigations and testing.
This job is ideal for someone mechanically inclined, reliable, and interested in learning valuable skills in the building science and construction diagnostics field. There’s also an opportunity to pick up additional hours assisting with light construction, equipment maintenance, or travel-based projects outside the core job responsibilities.
What You’ll Do:
Assist with on-site performance testing of windows, doors, and other building envelope components
Help set up and break down test equipment (spray racks, pressure chambers, gauges, etc.)
Transport and maintain specialized tools and equipment
Take jobsite photos and help document existing conditions
Support minor construction prep tasks
Where You’ll Work:
You’ll coordinate remotely, then travel to job sites across Northern California
Occasional overnight travel to Southern California and Nevada
Mileage and travel expenses reimbursed
Requirements:
Mechanical aptitude and interest in construction or field work
Valid driver's license and clean DMV record
Able to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically active tasks
English fluency (Spanish a plus)
Reliable, respectful, and safety-focused
