Who we’re looking for

We are seeking a motivated Rental Coordinator to join our store in San Rafael, CA. As the primary point of contact for our customers, the Rental Coordinator’s main objective is to assist current and prospective customers with their equipment rental needs while providing top-notch customer service experience. What you’ll do

Greet customers promptly and assist in identifying their rental needs.

Administer, maintain, and manage all rental contracts, files, reservations, and related documents.

Ensure timely closure and completion of contracts upon the return of customers’ equipment.

Inspect and document the condition of returned equipment and accessories.

Record and communicate any damage to returned equipment, advising customers of applicable costs.

Load and unload equipment and accessories from customers’ vehicles as needed.

Schedule deliveries, pickups, and transportation of equipment, providing drivers with detailed logistical requirements.

Collaborate with accounting staff daily to resolve customer contract and payment issues.

Notify outside sales staff of potential projects or customers that may require a sales call.

Report equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs to the service shop.

Maintain and organize the showroom and counter area.

Adhere to all government and company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including reporting any unsafe equipment, incidents, conditions, or violations.

Perform customer service duties while wearing all required safety equipment.

Provide support to the shop, yard, parts, service, and delivery teams as needed.

To stand out you’ll need to

Saturday work availability is mandatory.

Possess a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.

Bring 1+ years of customer service experience, preferably in the equipment rental or construction industry.

Demonstrate fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Excel at prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Be physically capable of frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Regularly perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.

Adapt to working both indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions, with and without climate control.

Have a keen sense of smell, essential for safely working with various chemicals, including gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, propane gas, cleaning solvents, and aerosol paints and cleaners.

Competitive pay starting at $23.00 per hour DOE – starting pay can increase depending on knowledge and skills.
