JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a shop helper to clean the shop, clean cars, and complete basic mechanical tasks. Your chances for being considered for this position will be drastically increased if you include a description of your particular interest in vintage racing, especially if this includes familiarity with the cars we work on here. This is a 40 hour / week job, available to start immediately. Our hours are from 9am to 6pm. This is an entry level position that requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and the physical ability to stand or walk for a large portion of the day.
DETAILS
You will be asked about your mechanical knowledge (basic knowledge required), and you will be expected to be able to clean bathrooms, take out the trash, mop floors, and wash cars. This job is at least 25% custodial and 25% car cleaning. There is also the possibility of evening and weekend work both at the shop and the race track.
REQUIREMENTS
Some knowledge of vehicle maintenance is a plus. You will be working around expensive and complicated cars. You will need to be detail oriented, speak fluent English, take notes, and be self-directed. The perfect candidate for this job has some automotive experience, but formal training is not required. If you love cleaning and taking care of cool cars, this could be the job for you. A good driving record is a huge plus, and should be mentioned in your email.

We are a professional racing shop in Hayward that provides vintage racing services including engine building, race prep, full restorations, race support, and transport. We concentrate on purpose-built race cars, from early sports racers to Formula 1 and Can-Am. We have been in business 20 years, and we are a stable company with an established customer base.
