We are seeking a full-time Yard Service Technician to join our team at our San Mateo location. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. What you’ll do
Provide customers with instructions on the proper use, operation, shutdown, and safety procedures for equipment.
Load and unload equipment for customers, ensuring safe handling and transportation.
Clean, service, and maintain equipment to ensure it is safe, complies with manufacturer standards, and is “Ready to Rent.”
Inspect and assess the condition of rented equipment upon return and prior to future use.
Perform scheduled equipment maintenance as directed by the Yard Service Supervisor.
Maintain and organize the yard and work areas, ensuring proper tool placement, containment and removal of spills, elimination of slip/trip/fall hazards, and preservation of clean floors and surfaces.
Inspect, maintain, store, and refuel propane gas cylinders as required.
Assist in training new yard service technicians and provide guidance when necessary.
Support sales, parts, service, and delivery personnel as needed.
Collaborate effectively with coworkers, customers, and the general public.
To stand out you’ll need to
Saturday work availability is mandatory.
Possess a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
Bring 1+ years of customer service experience, preferably in the equipment rental or construction industry.
Demonstrate fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Excel at prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Be physically capable of frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Regularly perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
Adapt to working both indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions, with and without climate control.
Have a keen sense of smell, essential for safely working with various chemicals, including gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, propane gas, cleaning solvents, and aerosol paints and cleaners.
Compensation and benefits
Competitive pay ranging from $25.00 - $28.00 per hour DOE – starting pay will be determined on industry knowledge and relevant skills.
