A reputable law firm with an East Bay location is looking for a legal professional that can carry out both Paralegal and Legal Secretary to join a dynamic team:Top non-negotiables:Must have existing relevant class action wage and hour experience.Know how to do legal research, assist attorneys with some initial draft writing as needed. Cite checking, preparing/editing TOAs, docket checks.Have experience filing in state and federal courts. Must be highly organized, strong communication.Thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:Case Management: Assist attorneys in all phases of class action and wage and hour litigation, including pre-suit investigations, discovery, trial preparation, and settlement administration.Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, motions, declarations, and discovery responses.Filing and E-Filing: Prepare and file legal documents with state and federal courts, including electronic filing systems (e.g., CM/ECF).Discovery Support: Manage document production and review, including organizing, indexing, and summarizing large volumes of documents and data.Client Communication: Serve as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and third parties, ensuring clear and timely communication.Legal Research: Conduct research on relevant case law, regulations, and statutes related to class action and wage and hour cases.Calendar Management: Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions.Administrative Tasks: Handle routine administrative duties, such as correspondence, managing case files, and ensuring compliance with office procedures.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
