Colibri Gallery and Colibri Art & Framing is an art gallery as well as a full-service custom frame shop located in downtown Morgan Hill. We are growing and are looking for an 80% or full-time candidate who can work between 4-5 full days a week to join our creative team.
The position is for a custom picture framer with strong artisanship, attention to detail, and organizational skills. You will cut and join moulding into frames and stretcher bars. You will also cut mats and glass, stretch canvases, fit artwork into frames, and do occasional hand-sewing to mount objects. Everyone on our team is cross-trained - you will never be bored!
A creative background and a curiosity to learn new skills is a must. Familiarity and comfort using computers is needed. Some exposure to woodworking and using household power tools would be beneficial. We will train the right candidate that can commit to stay on the job for at least two years.
We promote a collaborative environment and have a team sales bonus structure in addition to a competitive hourly salary based on experience and ability. This position requires the ability to self-manage and work independently. You need to be able to lift 50 pounds and stand on your feet for most of the day.
