Position Overview:

CNC Machinist Level 3/2 - The selected candidate will be responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC machining centers and will validate programs, tooling, and quality of work throughout the production process. This hands-on position will require a conscience individual who is comfortable with all aspects of Vertical CNC Machining as well as working with a wide variety of materials. (Opportunity for and Horizontal machining as well) The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to quality, schedules as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This is a skilled / intermediate position.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

Main responsibility would be the set-up and operation of CNC Machining Centers

Basic / Advanced experience with Fanuc and Haas controllers (Additional controllers a +)

Follows written and verbal instructions that include an understanding of the Set-Up Sheet, Traveler, Drawing and any other technical information

Initiates clear communication written or verbal on process status and/or job-related activities as required

Performs efficient machine set-ups (pre tool set-up, program posts to machine)

Identifies and Monitors appropriate tooling requirements to meet job specifications

Make adjustments as needed during the set-up process that include:

o Setting and dialing in work and tool offsets, if needed, editing of N/C code

Work under a microscope to analyze part finishes and perform tool wear diagnostics

Coordinates and identifies with Quality Assurance all metrology/inspection equipment and procedures required to manufacture products successfully (Go-NoGo gauging etc)

Use problem solving skills and good judgment to minimize production down time

CAD/CAM experience is a plus (MasterCam, Solidworks etc.)

Education/Experience:

The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a machinist including at least 3 years as a set-up machinist.

Experience with set-up and/or operation of horizontal 4-Axis and/or 5 Axis machining centers and or additional controllers like Siemens, Heidenhain, Makino is a plus
