Fortrend Engineering is seeking a field Service Engineer to join our team to support our automation Equipment in the Semi-conductor and PV industries including but not limited to Wafer and Mask/Reticle handling robots, automated shipping boxes openers, SMIF pod openers, Foup openers, Mask/Reticle transfer systems, EFEM's Thermal Curing Chambers, and associated products. You will be an integral member of a collaborative team that builds, tests, installs and supports after installation maintenance of equipment for domestic and international customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong electro-mechanical engineering technical background with experience servicing semi-conductor automation equipment. Major job functions and responsibilities are installation, trouble shoot, repair, aid in assembly, testing, qualification of Fortrend products at our or customer's site. Any successful product installation requires certain amount of program management and prior program management experience is very valuable. You will be interfacing with the customers, therefore professionalism is an absolute must. Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, mechanical systems, various test, clean room procedures and protocol's pneumatic systems, electrical codes, electronic principals and theory and software principles is highly desired. It is essential that the applicant be a self-starter and ta team player.
Experience required
1. Minimum 3-5 years of experiences as a Field Service Engineer.
2. Understand pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems.
3. Interface directly with end users (customers) to provide technical presentations and consulation for the development of
fully integrated systems.
4. Work with customers, field sales, technical support and corporate engineering to resolve escalated problems.
5. Manage small or custom installation projects
6. Train customers on basic operation of the Fortrend system
7. Perform other duties as assigned
8. Prepare detailed reports for management and design engineering regarding equipment/systems defects or design
deficiencies affecting installation and operations/performance.
9. Work well in a team atmosphere with internal customers and peers.
10. Well-developed communication skills with ability to explain and discuss difficult information and to gain cooperation.
11. Knowledge of field service and installation methods used within the semi-conductor industry.
12. Read and understand mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings.
13. Proficient in written and spoken English.
14. Familiarity with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio)
15. Available to travel up to 60%
16. Available to travel overseas, China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Europe, Israel, South America and other locations.
