If you love building clean, custom cabinetry, enjoy a dynamic, collaborative shop, and you're ready for work that's far more interesting than kitchens, built-ins, or production cabinets, you'll feel right at home here.
We’re GTRV, a long-established custom camper van conversion company. We build smart, durable interiors for people who want something better than factory options: real craftsmanship inside a moving, three-dimensional space.
We’re hiring a Lead Cabinetmaker / Interior Builder who takes pride in precision work and enjoys the challenge of integrating cabinetry into compact spaces that are rarely square, level, or predictable. This role blends classic cabinetmaking with creative problem-solving and occasional integration with appliances, components, and unique customer requirements.
If you like variety, technical craftsmanship, and being part of a tight shop team, this is the place to put your skills to work.
Primary Responsibilities
Fabricate cabinetry and casework for van interiors
Build from shop drawings, templates, layouts, and cut lists
Install cabinetry inside vans with attention to sequencing, fit, and finish
Assist with related wood components (floors, wall panels, headliners, pop-top framing)
Maintain and improve fixtures, jigs, and templates used in production
Collaborate with the team to support efficient workflow
Occasionally work with customers to translate conceptual ideas into practical build solutions
Preferred Experience
5+ years in cabinetry, finish carpentry, or related fabrication
Skilled in joinery, laminates, and quality cabinet construction
Ability to interpret shop drawings and build from templates
Experience installing cabinetry in compact build environments (Van, RV, yacht, tradeshow, etc. a plus)
CNC router experience (programming and operation) is highly preferred
What We’re Looking For
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship standards
Ability to work independently and within a small team
Willingness to learn and follow GTRV’s established production systems
Creative, practical problem solver, especially in non-square spaces
Reliable, organized, and consistent in build quality
Positive attitude and pride in precision work
Benefits
Stable, long-established company with steady work
Opportunity to work on both production and custom projects
Supportive, down-to-earth team environment
Room for skill growth and advancement as the company expands
