YC Cable USA, Inc., a dynamic, rapidly expanding international cable assembly manufacturer locate in Fremont CA, seeks the following:
JNPI Technician
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
5+ years: Wire harness assembly experience (highly preferred)
Build prototype cables, harnesses, and sample assemblies based on drawings, specs, and build instructions.
Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and work instructions for accuracy and manufacturability.
Provide feedback to Engineering and Production on design issues, tooling needs, and process improvements.
Support the creation and revision of production documentation, including WI, cut sheets, routing instructions, and checklists.
Assist ME/NPI engineers with time studies, process validation, and pilot builds.
Set up tooling, fixtures, and equipment needed for new product builds.
Identify material shortages and work with Planning/Purchasing to resolve issues.
Train production assemblers on new product processes when required.
Perform first article builds and support QC with initial inspection and testing.
Troubleshoot build issues and ensure all changes are communicated and documented.
Maintain organized prototype areas, tools, and build records.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience in cable assembly, harness building, or electronics manufacturing.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong understanding of crimping, soldering, heat-shrink, routing, and cable handling techniques.
Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards (certification preferred).
Hands-on mechanical aptitude with ability to use crimp tools, stripping machines, multimeters, etc.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support fast-paced prototype schedules.
Experience working with ME/NPI in prototype or pilot production environments.
Knowledge of ERP systems for BOM lookup, work orders, and material checks.
Experience performing time studies or supporting process development.
Ability to identify DFM (Design for Manufacturing) risks and propose improvements.
May require light lifting (up to 30 lbs) and extended periods of standing.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Certified to IPC-A-610 or 620 workmanship standards
Required to wear a mask, common surfaces are sanitized and vaccination requirements, etc.
Compensation: $27 to $29 Per Hour based on the knowledge and experience
