Fortrend Engineering is seeking a Quality Technician to join our Manufacturing and Service Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing experienced quality assurance support to production, internal and external customers, interacting with suppliers, and customers on technical and quality related matters. This individual will make sure that we are in compliance to our Quality Management System (QMS) to meet customer requirements, quality standards, company goals and objectives.
Fortrend manufactures and integrates Automation Equipment for the Semi-conductor and PV industries including but not limited to Wafer and Mask/Reticle handling robots, shipping boxes, SMIF pod and FOUP openers, Mask/Reticle transfer systems, EFEM’s, Thermal Curing Chambers, and associated products. You will be an integral member of a collaborative team that defines and develops from concept through production. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong Manufacturing technical background with some experience in robotics, automation in Semi-conductor applications
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain inspection reports
- Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment
- Perform inspections across all stages of production, included incoming and final inspections
- Prepare and maintain test data for review
- Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards
- Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency Lead cross-functional problem-solving team and implement quality tools and techniques for continuous quality improvements (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S)
- Use quality tools and techniques to analyze quality data and conduct periodic quality meetings for product or process improvements (PFMEA, CP, DFMEA)
- Issue Quality Alerts and participate in purge process.
- Participate in design reviews, development, documentation, analysis and testing of assigned projects.
- Perform all other duties assigned including assisting in assembly of equipment, power up and calibration.
- Lift up to 25lbs.
Required Skills:
- Experience of dealing directly with customers regarding quality issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
- Problem solving ability, strong analytical skills and diplomacy skills required
- Understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle and processes
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings
- Use of Unipoint or other Quality Management Software a plus
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and related software
Qualification –
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience working as a Quality Technician
- Six Sigma Certification a plus
- Knowledge of lean and six sigma methodologies preferred
- Excellent project management skills
