Applying paint: Painters apply paint, stain, and sealants to a variety of surfaces such as door panels, interior panels

and etc. Use spray guns and or other tools to achieve the desired finish.

Preparing surfaces: Painters prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, taping, repairing cracks, and removing old

paint.

Setting up equipment: Painters set up and take down equipment like scaffolding and ladders.

Maintaining tools: Painters maintain all of their tools and equipment.

Performing repairs: Painters may perform minor plastering repairs, caulking, and finish repairs.

Reading instructions: Painters read blueprints and instructions to determine the amount and type of work needed.

Estimating time and materials: Painters survey project sites to estimate the time and materials needed.

Experience:

Auto-paint experience is good to have, but not a must.

Must be able to read, and follow written instructions. Read the spec sheets of the paint system supplied, such as mix ratio, and adhere to the instructions consistently.

Must have steady hands to hold the paint sprayer, be able to wear the PPE supplied, and work in a confined space. This is not interior, nor exterior, but work on parts laid on the bench.

Must be able to do some prep work for the parts, such as sanding/puttying using appropriate tools that are supplied.

Heavy lift, to the capacity of the paint system, move the can from A to B. Lift and mix them following written instructions.
