Sheet Metal Inspector

Westfab Manufacturing is a Precision Sheet Metal and Machining Organization specializing in volume component and product manufacturing for the Medical, Semiconductor, and related industries .We serve the manufacturing needs for many companies in Silicon Valley producing Sheet Metal, Machined parts, and Assemblies. We are seeking Quality Inspectors to join our team on our first shift. We are now accepting resumes/applications for the position of Sheetmetal Inspector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, and finished goods in accordance with established inspection criteria, work instructions, and quality standards.

- Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other equipment to verify product dimensions and tolerances.

- Document and report inspection results, ensuring accurate and timely recordkeeping of all quality assessments.

- Report quality issues to the Quality Manager and participate in root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement activities.

- Collaborate with the Buyer to communicate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including coordinating with vendors to ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified for effectiveness.

- Enforce quality procedures and standards to maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Support the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.

- Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Purchasing teams to resolve nonconformities and prevent recurrence.

- Assist in internal audits, process verifications, and other quality-related initiatives as assigned.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies.

- Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in quality control, manufacturing, or engineering preferred.

- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Skills and Competencies:

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and documentation.

- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and basic inspection tools.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

- Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification preferred.
