Job Summary:
Weld and assemble metal pieces and products by using handheld welding equipment. Set up parts for welding; use hand tools, pliers, cutters, shapers, clamps, jigs, and fixtures. Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, welding symbols, and blueprints to determine operations, required materials and timeframes for projects.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Welding: Welding Machine Set-up; Mig/Tig/Stick welding steel, stainless and low alloy steels using solid and flux-cored wire. Finishing of welds (chipping, grinding, sanding).
Read, assemble, and weld from blueprints.
Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
Follow safety regulations: Wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes, and monitoring machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
Develop welding processes: Using welding techniques to fuse metal components and create a strong and durable bond.
Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
Assess welded surfaces: Identifying errors in welded surfaces, structures, and components.
Inspect equipment: Identifying and correcting defects, and ensuring the final products are safe and meet industry standards.

Education and Experience:
High school or equivalent
Welding Certificate
Minimum of 2 years solid welding experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely use and lift equipment weighing 50 pounds.
Ability to work standing up to 10 hours per day.
