If you like working in a fast-paced and friendly setting, we are looking for you! The Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver will help keep the Habitat ReStore clean, stocked, and organized. This position will make sure the sales floor is always looking its best. They will also make sure that all customers are helped and happy while visiting the ReStore. This position will get the chance to lead volunteers, help donors, assist in pricing, and monitor the flow of merchandise on and off the sales floor. This employee will also fill in for the driver or assistant driver, picking up donations around Sonoma County with the box truck.
Primary Responsibilities:
Promote and maintain a safe work environment
Prepare store displays and stock shelves
Help organize and clean the sales floor through sweeping, arranging stock, materials, and tools
Assist with receiving of donated items when needed, unloading ReStore trucks and donor vehicles with courtesy and professionalism
Assist with loading customers' purchased materials into their vehicles with courtesy and professionalism
Answer general customer questions with patience and great customer service
Participate in keeping the warehouse clean, and safe for all
Follow all ReStore policies and procedures closely in the warehouse and outside yard
Help lead groups of volunteers in the ongoing operations of the ReStore
Create an excellent first and last impression for all ReStore guests
Make sure all inventory is correctly priced
Riding or driving a 16' (or more) box truck to pick up donations
Providing a prompt, professional pickup service for customers with donations
Required Skills and Experience:
Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is highly desirable
Must have a clean CA driver’s license and be able to be insured on Habitat's insurance policy
Must be 21 years old to be covered by our auto insurance
Experience driving a box truck or large vehicle, or willingness to learn
Must be a Team Player
Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to direct volunteers
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

Education, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Some knowledge of tools, building supplies and home improvement highly desirable
Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle merchandise and fixtures throughout the store. Physical ability to bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in a warehouse environment, which includes exposure to dust, heat and cold.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for lifting, climbing and crawling; work on slippery or uneven surfaces; operate motorized equipment or vehicles; bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, walk, stand, or sit for prolonged periods of time; near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically.
Time Requirements:
This is a Full Time, 32-40 hour per week position. It may be necessary to occasionally work extra hours as determined by the supervisor.
