The JCCSF Summer Camp is now hiring Camp Counselors for 2025!
Summer Camp at the JCCSF offers one-week to three-week sessions in traditional day camp and specialty camp settings for campers in grades K-10. Our classic day camps feature arts & crafts, STEAM projects, and sports. Specialty camps include visual arts, nature exploration, musical theater, science and more.
As a camp counselor, you’ll be helping children create lifelong memories. At the same time, you’ll build your leadership skills, boost your resume and have a blast!
Summer Camp is in session June 2 - August 22, 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the primary role model for a group of campers, grades K through 10
Create a safe, supportive environment for campers
Plan, organize and supervise fun and age-appropriate activities
Help lead lesson plans and support indoor and outdoor programming
Set clear, consistent limits and resolve behavioral challenges with help from supervisors
Take on additional responsibilities as required
REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 16 with a valid work permit
Willing to commit to ten weeks of camp plus our staff training week (applicants who can commit to the greatest number of weeks will be prioritized)
A team player
Experience working with children ages 5 through 15, preferably in a camp setting
Warm, open and able to respond sensitively to diverse groups of children
Interested in creating, planning and facilitating group activities
Appropriately silly and imaginative at play
Adept at juggling attention to one camper while supervising large groups
Enthusiastic, flexible and able to improvise (a must)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Will be working directly with and mainly responsible for youth aged 5-13. Camps take place in a variety of locations, both indoors (classrooms, basketball gym, art studio, catering kitchen) and outdoors (field trips, sports field, playgrounds). Locations are dependent on which camp type the counselors are assigned. Assignments can be made with consideration of counselor preferences.
Counselors are required to participate in swim-based activities with campers, in 3-5 feet of water, and must wear appropriate swim attire .
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift equipment/supplies/assorted material of up to 50lbs, with or without assistance. Work entails standing and walking throughout the day.

Seasonal, Non-benefited, non-exempt position
HOURS
37.5 hours per week from 6/2/2025 – 8/22/2025
SCHEDULE
Staff training June 2,2025- June 6,2025
Summer Direct Service Hours: June 9 ,2025-August 22,2025
Work hours: 8:15am – 4:pm, Monday – Friday
