Director of Training & LGBTQ+ Community Development

TLC Child and Family Services is seeking a full-time (40 hr/week) Director of Training & LGBTQ+ Community Development. Join our dynamic organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable youth, young adults and families!

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Chief Operations Officer, TLC’s Director of Training will develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain agency-wide training plans and strategies. This includes coordinating outside trainers as well as developing and delivering internal training opportunities to primarily staff, as well as parents, community members, and industry partners.

This position will also develop and cultivate partnerships throughout the community to increase LGBTQ+ awareness and advocacy. This includes managing Project Flare, LGBTQ+ events, training opportunities and awareness efforts with youth groups, parents, community members, and local businesses and via participation in LGBTQ+ community events.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with TLC’s Leadership Team and Human Resources in developing and executing trainings that will enhance learning and ensure implementation of new concepts, philosophies and approaches to the work.Support training and coordination provided by internal and external providers and County entities, including managing training vendorization processes. Maintain needed certifications and CEUs. Attends meetings, trainings, and seminars to obtain information useful to training staff and to inform management of training programs and goals.Manage Relias Platform to ensure agency compliance to regulations and agency values. Track timely course completions and address overdue training with supervisors. Facilitate access to outside content and create new content.Direct and manage the Project Flare program through holding events, providing outside trainings, and reducing aloneness through sharing Flare videos in the community.Support and facilitate LGBTQ+ awareness in the community through events, providing outside trainings to the community, and leading TLC’s LGBTQ+ advisory committee.Oversee and manage the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) through completing the assessment, ensuring TLC’s compliance to specific requirements to retain status as Innovators.Skills:

Exceptional communication and organizational skills Experience creating visual learning tools and presenting to large audiencesSensitivity and commitment to the cultural diversity of employees and clients is a mustExposure to training, Human Resources, and the non-profit environment preferredKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher & database software

Qualifications:

Master’s in Psychology, or related Behavioral Health field, with experience creating grouptraining curriculum and presentations, license preferredMinimum of 3-4 years of experience with administrative and coordination responsibilitiesDirect clinical experience (individual, group, family, and/or couple’s therapy) highly preferred Obtain and maintain fingerprint, government and agency required background clearances, without additional exemptions.Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam, TB test and drug screen.Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and auto insurance showing the employee as an insured driver on the policy.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 per year, depending on education and experience
