Be a part of Richmond history! Pogo Park is creating Contra Costa County’s first Community Resilience Center (CRC) in the Iron Triangle – a hub that helps residents prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
Position Summary:
As the Emergency Preparedness Manager, you’ll connect with residents, lead trainings, organize events, and help our community get ready for emergencies. No prior experience needed – we’ll train you!
About the CRC:
Pogo Park received a $10 million state grant to transform Harbour Hall at Harbour-8 Park into a hub that supports residents before, during, and after emergencies – offering supplies, shelter, charging stations, and more.
About Pogo Park:
Founded in 2007, Pogo Park is a Richmond-based nonprofit that transforms neglected parks into vibrant public spaces where children play and neighbors gather.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead community outreach and engagement
Plan and host trainings, workshops, and events
Coordinate logistics for programs and meetings
Collaborate with the CRC team to meet project goals
Qualifications:
Experience in community organizing or outreach
Confident public speaker and facilitator
Friendly, organized, and community-minded
Able to work occasional nights/weekends
(Preferred) Bilingual in English/Spanish; Richmond ties a plus!
Details:
Full-time (40 hrs/week), $28–$34/hour
Location: Richmond, CA
