Ohlhoff Recovery Programs has been offering treatment services to individuals who suffer from addiction since 1958. Our “Devon House” Women’s Residential Program is a new facility for women attending partial, intensive outpatient services or need extended care in a sober-living environment after completely a 30 day inpatient program. Ohlhoff provides a family atmosphere that encourages continued work toward higher levels of accountability, responsibility and the desire to remain clean and sober in recovery.
THE HOUSE MANAGER FOR THE “DEVON HOUSE” IS A FULL-TIME, LIVE-IN POSITION IN A FEMALE ONLY RESIDENTIAL FACILITY. THE DUTIES OFTEN INCLUDE OVERSEEING DAILY OPERATIONS, ENSURING RULES ARE FOLLOWED, MANAGING CONFLICTS, AND PROVIDING EMOTIONAL SUPPORT TO RESIDENTS. YOU ACT AS A MENTOR, ENFORCING THE HOUSE’S RECOVERY POLICIES WHILE ALSO OFFERING A COMPASSIONATE EAR.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of the addiction recovery process and experience in the substance abuse treatment facility setting, not required but helpful to have experience of supervisory position, and managerial and organizational skills.
If identified as in recovery must have no less than 2 consecutive years clean and sober or approved by Executive Director
High school diploma mandatory and minimum 2 years of college education; prefer State of CA Certification or Registration of Drug and Alcohol Counselor or proof of current enrollment as a student in the Drug and Alcohol Field or Behavioral Health Sciences.
Must have a valid current CA Driver’s License, CPR & 1st Aid Certified (will reimburse for training), annual negative TB test.
Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a professional team.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in multi-cultural settings with diverse client groups.
Ability to work and relate to residents in a helpful, directive, firm, yet compassionate manner.
DUTIES:
Manage 6-7 women who will be currently attending the Intensive Outpatient Treatment in addition to the House groups, meetings and activities.
House Manager will assure a major role in professionalism and communication skills by assisting clients, staff and agency at the same time establishing code of ethics and confidentiality.
Reports to Executive Director and works closely with other staff members to ensure that a coordinated team effect is maintained.
Help create a safe, supportive and caring home environment in which the residents continue their recovery, and provide regularly scheduled opportunities for the residents to grow in their understanding of recovery.
Duties include enforcing House Rules and Hours.
Duties include supervising clients during the overnight hours, leading Check-Out & House meetings, random UA testing and occasionally escorting clients to local recovery meetings.
House Manager is responsible for coordinating aspects of the resident’s meals, activities and meetings, as well as a vital member of the treatment team.
Ensure that residence is maintained in a state of good repair, orderliness and is free from hazards.
Update and post client task list, client chore chart, and oversee client deep cleaning.
Daily mail pick-up and distribution.
Responsible for inventory of program supplies (i.e. linen, cleaning supplies and pantry food).
Communicate to the Executive Director and if needed to the day staff any news, updates or information specific to the clients or maintenance of the facility that occurs during your designated shift coverage through either email, phone or in person.
Must be able to remain calm during an emergency and 911 calls.
Notify Executive Director of all emergencies ASAP. House Manager will be trained by the agency in Crisis Intervention Procedures.
Maintain excellent health, physical and mental, and work a solid recovery program if applicable.
COMPENSATION: Amount paid towards Room and Board in a beautiful remodeled, refurnished home in Alamo Square Historical District. House Manger has own bedroom, downstairs bathroom and full use of kitchen and common areas. Washer and dryer provided next door at the Henry Ohlhoff House. Utilities, water and garbage included as compensation. Treatment is not included but you may participate in Services aligned with your level of care and or needs.
