California Community Opportunities (CCO) is a private, nonprofit San Jose-based agency providing homes and lifelong learning to adults with developmental and physical disabilities. CCO is hiring dependable, responsible, and caring direct care staff also known as caregivers, direct support professionals or teaching counselors, to work with the individuals we serve. We have permanent (not “on call”) Day and Night positions. We provide extensive, ongoing paid training and 24/7 support as you assist the individuals we serve. You will become certified as a Teaching Counselor within the Family Teaching Model.
Homes [Work Locations] are located in Los Gatos, San Jose and Cupertino.
Paid Training takes place in our South San Jose office. [1 week/paid] and paid on the job shadow training

Weekend DAY Direct Support Professionals / Caregiver Positions - $20.00 per hour + $30.00 Overtime [Average wage - $22.72 - $23.33]
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm [12 hour daily shift & 36 hours per week] Average $23.33/hr
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm [12 hour daily shift & 36 hours per week] Average $23.33/hr
If you cannot work 3 days week and can work part-time 2 days a week such as Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun or Sun/Mon or two days during the week please let us know when you apply.
Schedules are set, there is no on-call requirement, and guaranteed 36 hours.
Responsibilities:
DAY POSITION:
Teach daily living skills to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Provide direct care with sensitivity, this may include personal hygiene/ADL assistance.
Follow daily schedule and keep individuals engaged and participating in their activities.
Support individuals in their homes with cooking, cleaning and teaching plans.
Transport and attend medical appointments, outings and errands.
Assist and administer medication (will be trained and certified by RN).
NIGHT POSITION:
Deep cleaning of the home and completing laundry while individuals sleep.
Nighttime support and sleep checks and tracking during evening.
Provide support if individuals wake up.
Assist with morning routines and medications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Needed: 6 months of providing care [can be paid or unpaid experience]
Proof of valid CA driver’s license
Must be able to pass extensive background clearances, drug test, basic physical exam, tuberculosis [TB] and DMV check
Authorized to work in the United States
