Lead Riding Instructor

Description:The Lead Riding Instructor manages the Club's riding program and teaches horsemanship and safety skills, working with both the horse and rider to help them bond as a pair. The Lead Riding Instructor reports to the Equestrian Center Manager and supervises Riding Instructors and Assistant Riding Instructors. Must have unrestricted ability to work in the United States Exempt role $75,000 - $80,000, plus full health benefits, time off, and free meals. Pay depends on experience.Requirements:Oversees Riding Instructors and ensures quality of instruction.Ensures the physical environment is safe, clean, and free of hazards.Responsible for scheduling and member communication.Teaches beginner through intermediate riders in the English style discipline, providing constructive feedback.Promotes a culture of safety, kind handling of horses, and teamwork.Maintain lesson program volume to meet established goals.Responsible for the planning, organizing, and execution of camps.Assists with sourcing schooling horses and client-owned horses.Rides and trains school horses as needed.Ensures school horses are provided with excellent care, including grooming and exercising.Assists with handling horses for the veterinarian, farrier, or trainer.Tracks lessons and processes billing.Adheres to established Club Equestrian department rules and regulations. Adheres to and models USEF Safe Sport rules.As needed, provides backup coverage to the Circus training program.Supervises, schedules, and trains Riding Instructors and Assistant Riding Instructors.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSExcellent horsemanship and English riding skills.Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.Ability to be patient and kind while working with children.Proficient in Equine first-aid.Excellent organizational skills.Effective personnel management skills.Strong commitment to teamwork.High level of professionalism and positive attitude.Computer literacyEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEMinimum 3 years teaching beginner through intermediate horsemanship and riding skills, including children.Experience participating in equestrian competitive events preferred.First-aid certification is a plus.Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to be on feet for up to 85% of shift.Ability to lift/carry/ push/pull objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, and turn for prolonged periods of time.The position requires working inside and outside and may require prolonged exposure to dust, hay, mold, rain, sunlight, wind, and cold.
