PEERS is a leader in the peer-to-peer mental health movement.
A PEARLS Coach supports wellness for older Alameda County residents through conversations around mental health and wellness virtually or via phone, and in the participants' homes or at a community center or agreed-upon location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet regularly with PEARLS Participants
Report challenges and successes to group meetings to build teamwork and assist other Coaches.
Complete admin tasks and participate in coaching groups for all PEARL program activities.
Maintains records of meetings with participants, collects data, and work with the PEARLS Program Assistant to track grant deliverables for the PEARLS Program.
Participate in the recruitment of PEARLS participants.
Attend PEARLS Team Meetings and required PEERS meetings and trainings
Sustain a high-integrity program with a cultural lens, including ethnicities, life experiences, gender(s), sexuality, socio-economic status, age, etc.

Experience as a mental health consumer and/or family member is at the core of our mission and vision. We seek someone who understands that we are a peer-run and operated organization that honors lived experience as an expertise in the mental health field.
Commitment to demonstrating the mission, vision, and values of PEERS.
Written and oral communication skills.
Public speaking and presenting skills (or willingness to be trained).
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse teams and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, work independently and meet project deadlines and expectations.
Possession of a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and car
Preference given to Alameda County residents
Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS and JOB SETTING
Program headquarters is a standard office setting on the second floor of a multi-story building, requiring an elevator for access.
