Role

The Armory/Overlook Full Time Monitor is responsible for working closely with clients in a compassionate, professional, and trauma-informed manner; ensuring smooth shelter operations as directed; and communicating (both verbally and in writing) updates to the management team on a regular basis.

Position Overview

Enforce shelter rules and regulations.

Report to the Lead Monitor on shift about any resident infractions or concerns.

Remain on the shelter floor at all times.

Attend to and report violations or incidents as they occur.

Serve meals in accordance with daily meal plans and during the designated mealtimes.

Perform routine custodial functions.

Coordinate participant laundry services.

Assist clients in remembering and implementing house details/chores at designated chore times.

Perform clerical duties related to direct service, including but not limited to the following:

24-hour roster,

client daily report,

client food care,

chore check sheet,

client personal sheet, and

monitors’ log.

Provide residents with tents, and blankets as needed.

Clean out tents as residents exit the shelter.

Maintain participants’ living space and record notes daily.

Coordinate shower time for guests, sanitize between use, and hand out hygiene items.

Empty commodes/urinals.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

This position is a full time, nonexempt, benefited position. Full time expectations are 32-40 hours of work per week. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand for extended periods of time. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
