ABOUT THE JOB
The Employment Specialist will assist individuals with disabilities find a job and may also provide on-the-job coaching support if needed after our client is hired. Services range from resume writing and interview skills training to helping our clients understand the current job market and employer expectations. You will help educate employers about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities while also supporting clients in developing their self-advocacy skills.
This job can be part time or full time, $22- 25/hr depending on experience and caseload.
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
Full time:
The value of these benefits is approximately $1,650/month for full-time employees, not including signing bonus

Paid time off each year:
o Vacation accrual: 7.5 to 20 days, depending on tenure
o Holidays: 12 days (10 fixed holidays, 2 staff can choose)
o Sick time: 48 hours
o Bereavement leave: 24 hours

DUTIES
Partner with the client to find a job utilizing on-line resources, networking and outreach in the community.
Provide information about the current job market and employer expectations.
Help client to determine what accommodations they may need
Assist client with on-line applications, resumes, cover letters and interview skills training
Coordinate with employers regarding interviews, start dates and schedule.
Develop new relationships with local employers and expand existing relationships that ICS has with local businesses.
Assist your client in learning how to perform their job as needed
Act as a support for your client and the employer, and assist both parties in communicating with one another effectively
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong Technical skills: MS Office, creating PDF’s, Google docs, conduct internet searches
Willingness to be flexible and shift the focus of your attention from job development to job coaching and vice versa.
Experience creating resumes and cover letters
Understand how to conduct a job search using different techniques/tools
Comfortable reaching out to employers (cold calling/networking)
Valid California driver's license with proof of insurance is required, background check will be conducted
