Salary Advancement - A salary increase after 1,040 hours (6 months when working full-time) for good work performance; eligibility for a salary increase for good performance every year thereafter, until reaching the top of the salary range

Currently, we are recruiting for a monolingual English-speaking position in our Occupational Safety and Health Unit (Safety) and a fluent bilingual English/Spanish-speaking position in our Recruitment & Classification Unit (R&C). However, the employment list generated from this recruitment can be used to fill future HR Technician positions in County HR that support variety of HR and risk management services.
What You Bring - In County HR, our ideal HR Technician candidates demonstrate that they can quickly assess problems with a solution-oriented, customer-focused approach, and a tenacious attitude. They have a high level of integrity and can diffuse difficult situations as they arise. They are also highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite. Additionally, ideal candidates are empathetic, tactful, detail-oriented, and:
Have excellent communication skills, and can effectively interact with a diverse customer base including the public, vendors, staff, department heads, County officials, and union representatives
Possess sound judgment and a commonsense approach to addressing daily challenges, using these skills to resolve routine issues and determine when to escalate to analysts/managers as needed
Can balance multiple competing demands/deadlines and work interruptions
Are skilled in researching and auditing data
Have superb organizational skills and the ability to follow complex policies and procedures
Possess high-functioning customer service skills, with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships and effectively coordinate services for various internal and external stakeholders
Possess intellectual curiosity that drives a commitment to personal and professional growth
