Evergreen Nursery is a well established San Leandro, CA independent garden center. We specialize in a vast selection of garden essentials, service and education. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our small and friendly team in this multifaceted administrative position. The position in on site and not suitable for remote work. Experience in retail Point of Sale (POS) systems and Quickbooks Online a must.

Assistant Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities:

-Manage records and information:

-Enter purchase orders

-Point person to reconcile purchase order discrepancies and credits

-Match purchase orders to invoices from suppliers.

-Work closely with General Manager; communicate with staff

-Enter and pay bills into QuickBooks Online.

-Collect outstanding Accounts Receivable.

-Process monthly customer maintenance billing

-Prepare bank deposits. Minimal cash handling.

-Administration of Inventory Counts.

Office Manager Responsibilities:

-Learn and manage our POS system: currently Lightspeed R-Series, Accounting and Analytics

-Create and run reports: inventory, sales, marketing

-Troubleshoot and work with Lightspeed support as needed

-Maintain historical records by filing documents

-Help maintain office supplies and other tasks to keep the office running smoothly

Operations Assistance:

-Ability to document processes and procedures

-Tracking and ordering business supplies

-Assist General Manager with scheduling internal service/maintenance providers

-Other tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

-Previous experience in administrative services or other related fields.

-Competence in QuickBooks Online, a must.

-Experience in PC based environment: computers, laptop, printers

-Ability to troubleshoot PC hardware and software desired but not required

-Google Workspace experience a plus.

-Bookkeeping experience

-Deadline and detail-oriented

-Maintain confidentiality

-Strong communication skills

-Interest in gardens and plants a plus!

Details:

3-4 days: 15-24 hours per week

On the job training provided for POS system
