POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Assistant provides skilled administrative support, executes special projects, supports agency development initiatives including outreach, fundraising, and social media management, and is responsible for various tasks related to agency training activities and general operations. This vital position represents Aldea over the course of providing important internal and external support and should embrace and exude agency values. The Program Assistant demonstrates effective, professional, and proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and has a high-degree of detail-orientation, work accuracy, discretion, resourcefulness, and tact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Support general agency and program operations, including a variety of advance-skilled office management activities, data collection, and reporting duties.

2. Identify, monitor, field, and respond to internal and external inquiries and requests in a timely, accurate, and supportive manner.

3. Plan, prepare, and represent Aldea at various events (including coordinating and participating in preparation, set-up, and break down duties), promoting agency values and mission through collaboration with community stakeholders and public interfacing. Events may be held during alternative work hours such as evenings and weekends.

4. Support and fulfill development and outreach activities, including content creation, direct mail management, newsletter design and distribution, and various duties related to fundraising campaigns, donor development, and agency events.

5. Aid in the development, coordination, and implementation of the agency volunteer program.

6. Support Aldea website and social media content development and maintenance, including social media engagement and monitoring accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Candidates must possess the skills necessary to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a Master’s degree preferred; however, a comparable combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

- General knowledge and an understanding of best practices in human services, which may be gained through job experience, training, and lived experience.

- Excellent writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong computer and applications skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs required (Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word) and programs such as Canva, Adobe, Classy, and Salesforce (preferred).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Spanish bilingual fluency preferred.
