Occidental Hardware Inc. is a hardware and garden supply store located in the quaint, historic town of Occidental, serving local businesses and individuals in the West Sonoma County area. We are looking for a Hardware Sales Associate to work in the store and the yard, working with customers to find merchandise and brainstorm solutions, and help out with projects stocking and keeping the store and yard clean and organized.
Required Experience:
- 1+ retail sales, customer service
- 1+ cash handling, operating a register
- Capable of lifting 60lbs
- Staying on task, following instructions
Recommended Experience:
- General home improvement knowledge
- Experience or willingness to learn about: general labor, landscaping, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and/or electrical work.
Typical Job Duties:
- Stocking merchandise
- Ringing up customers at the register
- Answering questions over the phone, taking messages for management if necessary
- Cutting Keys
- Pumping Propane
- Keeping track of low/out of stock items
- Helping customers locate items
- Giving recommendations when needed
- Keeping yard organized and clear of garbage, debris, and weeds
