Applicant should possess excellent communication skills including a good telephone demeanor, a personable attitude, a team player, and an ability to handle multiple functions at once. An aptitude for design is a major plus, and the ability to envision a finished product and communicate that vision to our customers is essential. This is great for a person who is interested in Art. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Terms:
The position begins with a 90-day trial period, during which on-the-job training will occur. A performance review will follow the 90-day trial.
Job Description
Greet customers as they enter the shop
Represent the shop in a clean, professional, and friendly manner.
Assist customers with design solutions for custom framing projects, create clear and easily understood work orders/invoices for such projects, and communicate customer needs/requests to the manager and/or production staff.
Assist customers with Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects, providing instruction on the safe handling and cleaning of glass and/or plexiglass, dust-free fitting into frames adhering to high-quality standards, and using appropriate hanging hardware to the safe hanging of finished products.
Safety cut glass and acrylic glazing products for frames.
Safely cut single and multiple mats for framing projects.
Frame Mirrors and Decorator Prints to be displayed for sale in the Showroom.
Maintain a clean and safe work and shopping environment for fellow employees and our customers.
Assist with daily opening and closing procedures on Saturday; perform opening and closing procedures on Sunday and Monday.
Ability to type at least 30 wpm preferred.
Custom framing skills would be helpful but will be trained.
