Coyuchi is seeking a sales associate to join the team at our flagship retail store in Point Reyes Station. Sales associates are responsible for creating a welcoming environment for in store shopping and using active listening techniques to help customers choose products. Sales associates also field questions and take orders via phone and email. Additional duties include unpacking orders from the warehouse, stocking shelves, and organizing the sales floor and stockrooms.
Our Point Reyes store is a work environment where everyone pitches in and participates in all functions. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, with an eye for interior design and visual merchandising, an aptitude for spatial organization and a beginner’s mindset. This is a 2-3 day/week position to start with room for advancement (more hours, a raise and benefits) in 3-6 months.
You will be Responsible for
- Welcome and greet all in-person customers
- Pro-actively engage with customers to convert customers and achieve weekly sales goals
- Cross-sell / upsell from in-store product and extended online offering
- Work collaboratively with customers to design complete bed and bath “looks”
- Ring sales, process payments with accuracy with an emphasis on providing a great customer experience during the check out process
- Sign up customers to the Coyuchi email list and maintain a clienteling list
- Ship orders - when customer requests store to home delivery
- Process incoming shipments, navigate ordering and inventory systems
- Understand the Coyuchi difference and product catalog
- Stay up to date on new Coyuchi products, promotions and initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- 1-2 years in retail or customer service in a high-end, high-touch retail environment
- Desire to give top-notch customer service within a small close-knit, caring team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; high emotional intelligence
- Passion for sustainability + organics; an eye for design; an interest in textiles
- Effective time management skills and ability to effectively organize and prioritize work
- Enthusiasm for Coyuchi and the Coyuchi vision
- Goals and sales driven
Physical Requirements
All store positions require significant physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching and grasping. All employees are expected to climb step ladders, bend and kneel to obtain products for customers, unpack deliveries and maintain the visual appearance of the store. Employees should be able to lift 20lbs consistently and up to 50lbs occasionally.
