The Senior Business Systems Analyst is primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business analytics and technology systems needs for the Company. This includes gathering and analyzing complex pieces of data to supply statistical analysis, provide data-driven business recommendations and answer specific business and technical questions to meet the needs of the Company and its customers. This position would also be responsible for directing, developing, testing and deploying new customizations and functionality for the Company’s proprietary scanning software and providing the related analytics. This is a multi-faceted role requiring collaboration with key stakeholders across Finance, Operations and Sales to maintain and continually enhance business systems and reporting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Systems Analytics & Tech-Business Liaison

Drive process improvement and optimization initiatives across teams and the organization.

Identify and translate business system requirements and related business/application solutions over a complete business process.

Conduct in-depth research, interpret highly technical documents, draw valid conclusions, and provide appropriate recommendations to solve business problems.

Evaluate business and program application systems' functionality to identify gaps while measuring the solution impact to business operations.

Responsible for developing and delivering training on applicable systems and processes as needed.

Manage, coordinate and deliver technology projects across multiple platforms and/or teams.

Business Analysis & Reporting

Create/generate complex reports for various departments on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis.

Utilize available reporting systems to develop and analyze complex data and provide insight to applicable departments regarding business operations/objectives.

Clearly present findings/analysis and recommendations to applicable departments and stakeholders for use in making critical business decisions.

Assist with creating/analyzing pricing scenarios for new/existing customers.

Analyze complex data and prepare in-depth analysis to respond to RFP’s.

Work with operations to make necessary changes/updates to existing route guides or create new route guides in order to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Provide various financial analyses as needed regarding equipment costs, maintenance trends, upcoming capital expenditures, etc.

Provide statistical analysis of company data for marketing and ongoing customer satisfaction purposes (e.g. on-time delivery, etc.)

Various other project-based reporting as needed.

Proprietary Scanning Software

Oversee the ongoing development of the company’s proprietary scanning software to meet the changing demands of the company’s customers.

Interface with new customers to determine individual needs, provide analytics, and implement customizations as needed.

Serve as the primary point of contact for all scanning software questions, issues, and ongoing developments.

Ensure that the scanning system always functions properly and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Manage integrations with other necessary software applications (e.g. onboard vehicle systems, payroll system, etc.).

IT

Act as a strategic partner and liaison between company personnel and technology vendors/development teams.

Responsible for utilizing available data to make selections/changes/updates to company technology systems, ensuring business needs and efficiencies are met.

Serve as the primary point of contact for IT Technicians/third party vendors for various technology systems.

Update and maintain subscriptions and accounts for Company’s various technology systems.

Set up and control permissions for new/existing users on Company computers and other technology equipment.

Catalog, track and maintain various types of Company electronic assets.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business-related field

7+ years progressive experience in business and/or systems analysis or related fields

Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel required (e.g. pivot tables, vlookups, compound and complex formulas, data validation, etc.)

Solid understanding of IT systems, applications and user environments

SQL experience highly desirable

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Ability to communicate and present complex ideas, facts, and opinions in an easily digestible format to stakeholders

Must be highly organized and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment

Experience with business intelligence tools for creating reports/dashboards required

Coding experience highly desired

Transportation industry experience a plus, but not required

Ability to organize large amounts of information and glean insights, define problems, and identify root causes

Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to collaborate with stakeholders across departments, define business and technical parameters and lead team to meet business requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
