Position: Research Associate I

Responsibilities: Responsible for performing gene editing experiments and related cell-based assays to drive engineering of our proprietary TAGE platform; contributing directly to our core technology; working closely with protein engineers, cell biologists, immunologists, and gene editing experts; culturing and maintaining various cell lines, including human primary immune cells; developing cell-based assays to assess gene editing and functional consequences; performing DNA extractions from mouse tissue, and preparing libraries for next generation sequencing; carrying out nucleofections of gene editing molecules for target validation; designing and generating new expression constructs with HT molecular cloning; purifying proteins; conducting biochemical characterization of novel genome editors; and analyzing and presenting data. Salary range: $76,461 - $96,461. Standard company benefits. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in biological engineering, molecular biology, or closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 1 year of experience in the job offered or related position. Other special requirements include: 1 year of experience developing cell cultures and cell-based assays, including experience with both bacterial and mammalian cell lines; 1 year of experience performing DNA extractions and preparing libraries for next generation sequencing; 1 year of experience working with protein purification and biochemical characterization of novel genome editors; and 1 year of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
