Our team is looking for self-motivated Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) to fill the mission-critical role of ensuring that our client's critical systems are healthy, monitored, automated, and designed to scale. You will work closely with Product, Program, and Operations teams to build key data pipelines and tools to facilitate data analysis as well as support Reliability initiatives to identify and resolve production issues. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, and passionate about supporting a team that analyzes billions of searches per day.
This is a long-term, and full-time position based out of Menlo Park, California and offers above market compensation as well as annual performance incentives.
Responsibilities:
Proactively shape the architecture, design, and implementation of data/analytics pipelines (BUILD)
Maintain services once they are live by measuring/monitoring availability, latency and overall health (MAINTAIN)
Drive key initiatives to enhance overall system reliability, performance, and efficiency (OPTIMIZE)
Provide advisory services to development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind.
What you'll need:
Grit, drive and a deep feeling of ownership
3+ years experience with troubleshooting in Unix/Linux
Programming skills (Python, Perl, Ruby)
Great communication and collaboration skills and prior experience working with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a SRE
Prior experience with data pipelines, data wrangling
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize issues while maintaining the level of quality and efficiency
