Staff DevOps Engineer (Salary Range: $283,442/yr - $288,442/yr): Research, design, develop, test and support the cloud and on-prem infrastructure supporting CICD pipeline, data processing pipeline, and large scale storage. Define and write Kubernetes templates to set up environments. Assist our vision in making autonomous transportation safe and ubiquitous. Work with cross-functional teams across organizational and geographical boundaries. Define recipes to bootstrap environments using Saltstack. Participate in on-call rotations to maintain all cloud and on-prem resources. Modify and automate existing software tools, pipelines, workflows, and deployments to improve performance and reliability of Luminar’s internal software processes. Work with Agile teams and within frameworks such as the scaled agile framework (SAFe). Lead post-mortem activities and create documentation when issues arise. Design, develop, and maintain continuous integration infrastructure software, which incorporates automation to optimize operational efficiency and enable rapid software development for reproducible and traceable software deployments.
Up to 10% travel (Florida & Germany). Some telecommuting permissible within commuting distance of office located in Sunnyvale, CA.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or related occupation. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation for a total of seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
SKILLS: Must have:
1. Three (3) years of experience programming in Python.
2. Five (5) years of experience working with cloud native technologies: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform(GCP), or Azure.
3. Five (5) years of experience in Orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
4. Five (5) years of experience in code merging and promotion, and building and managing CI/CD workflows and tools.
5. Experience in trouble-shooting cross-platform (Linux/Windows) and general networking knowledge.
6. Experience in monitoring and logging aggregating frameworks.
7. Experience in supporting the software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices and Artifact management systems.
