Our dermatology practice offers patient-centric care in a boutique environment . We offer medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Given our unique practice model of fee-for-service care (do not accept insurance), our staff is small. We have 1 physician and 1-2 staff members.

Part-Time Position Available: Wednesdays and Thursdays required. Opportunities for additional clinical hours some Tuesdays and Fridays and administrative support on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Education and Experience:

1. College Degree or experience in medical setting, customer service, hospitality or spa

2. Dermatology experience not required, but interest or experience in healthcare or aesthetics required

3. Medical School, Physician Assistant, or Nursing school applicants strongly encouraged to apply

4. Nurses with interest in cosmetic dermatology encouraged to apply - opportunities to perform laser treatments, but not willing to train on injectables

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Coordinator Duties

- Answer phones if receptionist is busy, schedule patient appointments and address patient concerns and questions

- Checks messages and returns calls in timely manner if needed

- Warmly greets patients and escorts them to exam rooms as needed

- Willing to gain knowledge regarding skin care products, cosmetic and medical treatments and counsel patients appropriately

- Discuss cost over the phone and in person of services

- Process credit card payments

- Maintain product inventory, restock and order as necessary

- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed

- Maintain professionalism and practice HIPAA/HITECH/Privacy regulations

2. Primary Medical Assistant Duties

- Escort patients to exam rooms and confirm reason for visit

- Obtain short history, allergy and medication list as required by patient’s chief complaint

- Set up exam room according to scheduled procedure

- Anticipate doctor's needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely

- Get to know regular patients and facilitates a comfortable, patient-focused, inviting environment

- Confirm all required consents are presented, read, and signed by patients

- Assist doctor with biopsies and surgical procedures such as excisions, ED&C, cryo therapy, laser surgery, etc.

- Assist doctor with cosmetic procedures, Botox/Dysport, fillers and cosmetic lasers

- Educate patient as required after physician establishes the treatment plan after developing a comfort level with doctor specific counseling

- Willingness to learn about dermatology conditions, medications, and treatment plans

- Ensure that the patient understands the treatment plan, understands the proper use of their medications, and exhibits patience with counseling patients in-person and over the phone

- Straighten and cleans exam rooms after patient visits

- Perform procedures such as suture removal, dressing applications and changes

- Completely and correctly fills out all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents for patients as required by physician

- Tracks biopsy results and ensures patient's results have been reported

- Take before and after photos for cosmetic treatments

- Unpack and stock medical supplies in exam rooms

- Perform all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization

- Perform other duties and tasks as needed
