We are currently seeking an experienced massage therapist interested in women's health and pregnancy for our massage studio.
We are a small, women’s wellness specialized practice, treating women at any age and stage of life with therapeutic massage. We pride ourselves in therapeutic massage while creating a relaxing experience for busy, stressed women seeking relief. We offer as much hands-on training as a talented therapist needs to become confident with side-lying prenatal massage, no prior prenatal specialization required.
Our practice is located in the City of San Bruno with easy access from 101 and 280 freeway. Free parking onsite
Essential Functions
● Perform all signature massage and spa wellness therapies maximum 4 deep tissue sessions
● Evaluates clients’ specific needs and expectations to determine the best appropriate
services, products and personal attention required to achieve satisfaction. Therapist must be comfortable discussing sensitive women's health issues and treating pregnant women
● Interacts cooperatively with other spa team members to provide a seamless customer
experience
● Presents a professional and respectful persona for customers and co-
workers
● Monitors the appointment schedule throughout the day to stay informed on
changes, and performs treatments in the allotted amount of time, remaining on
schedule
Other Duties
● Participate in all staff, team and educational meetings
● Adhere to Company policies regarding dress and appearance
● Practices the highest standard of sanitation and tidiness in the spa
● Actively builds a repeat clientele, and meets service and retail sales performance
requirements
● Uses appropriate quantities of products and laundry in accordance with company
protocols
● Communicates to management any and all occurrences involving clients or co-workers
that may require attention or follow-up
● Is responsible for cleanliness of countertops and products within the cabin, stocking the
room with linens and supplies as needed
● Performs prepwork and cleans and restocks work areas as required, (including, without
limitation, periodic sanitation under vinyl table covers with UV wand of the table
warmers).
● If not fully booked, utilizing any available time for client communications and supporting
the team as needed
Qualifications and Availability:
● A valid massage license for the State of California, and spa or practical body therapy
Experience. Clearance to work in the City of San Bruno
● Preference given to those trained by Body Therapy Education’s 32 Hour Pre- and Perinatal
Massage Therapy Workshop, Developed by Carole Osborne. All instructors accepted.
Completion of Certification is highly valued, but not required.
● Retail sales and customer service experience desired
● Must be available for one weekend shift (Fri, Sat, or Sun) per
week
● Customer service and team oriented
● Excellent communication and organizational skills
● Flexible, and an ability to multi-task
● High energy – able to work in a fast-paced environment
● Life-long learner, passionate about making a difference in the lives of mothers and
babies
● Emotional maturity and honed active listening skills
Must be able to work minimum two shifts weekly. Currently available: Monday afternoon, Wed morning, Wed afternoon, Sat morning, Sat afternoon Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon.
Physical Demands:
Standing 70%, sitting 10%, walking 15%, lifting 5%, computer use 10%, bending 20%, stooping 10%, lifting up to 50 lbs.
