Solar Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Technician

We are an experienced solar energy system contractor with more than 20 years active experience in this industry. We are currently searching for an experienced O&M Technician to join our team. Excellent pay and benefits.

The Solar Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative and corrective solar maintenance, system commissioning, troubleshooting and generally maintaining customer-owned and company solar assets. This key position is responsible for managing time and resources so that O&M customers are serviced promptly and effectively.

Responsibilities include:

Solar ESS and PV system troubleshooting

Preventative and corrective maintenance on residential and commercial PV systems and ESS

Initial commissioning of residential/commercial PV and ESS

Electronic monitoring set-up for PV and ESS, including troubleshooting wired and wifi comms.

Monitoring, troubleshooting and problem solving equipment and reporting issues in concert with industry partners via phone and web portals for both PV and ESS. Detailed experience with Enphase, Tesla, Outback, Fortress, Solar Edge, and SMA portals and Tiered Support preferred.

Warranty replacements/returns; RMA processing

Customer service and education – good with people.

Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

Organized and process driven to achieve solutions efficiently

Working at heights

Adherence to safety procedures

Light estimating duties for corrective maintenance and warranty replacements

Emergency service calls – (not a frequent occurrence)

Willing to work overtime or after hours if necessary – (not a frequent occurrence)

Educational, professional and/or other requirements:

Strong understanding of electrical theory and applications, as well as wired and wifi comms

3+ years residential and/or commercial PV system installation and/or O&M responsibilites

Knowledge of NEC, UBC and other building codes

High school graduate

Ability to innovate and improve operations and solve complex problems

Consistently organized with an elevated attention to detail

High integrity, positive attitude, and energy a must!

NABCEP, IR certification, and PV manufacturer O&M certifications a big plus!

A strong foundation in electrical installation, solar electrical systems, and customer service is required. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and customer service skills.
