Journal Club (journalclub.io) is a daily email newsletter, and accompanying podcast (in audio and video form). Each episode focuses on a different piece of peer-reviewed academic research. Our aim is to explain the research in plain English, and present it in an enjoyable way.

About the Role
This is an on-site, part-time, contract role in our office in Richmond, CA. It's a mix of the functions that would traditionally belong to a DIT, an Editor, and an Assistant Editor. Your job will be take the raw “dailies” and audio from each episode and
Organize, store and backup the raw content.
Process / master the audio (from our boom mic)
Color grade the footage (from 2 cameras)
Create the final edit of the episode
Add captions, intro, outro, credits, watermark etc to the episode.
Export an audio-only version of the episode
Export a video-version of the episode (landscape 4k)
Export 7-8 clips of the episode (vertical, for social media)
Produce a number of stills from the episode (for thumbnails, carousel ads etc)
Requirements
Video editing experience (in Premiere, Final Cut, or Da Vinci)
Color grading experience
Audio mixing/mastering experience
Local to the SF Bay Area
Nice to Haves
Light graphics/design experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva)
Experience with Veed.io or other auto-captioning software.
Experience producing marketing collateral for paid ad campaigns
A desire to grow into a larger position over time and lead a team.
