We are looking for field service technicians to install and repair automotive service equipment. That means you get to drive from one auto shop to another, fix things like air compressors, lifts, and oil pumps, and leave cheering technicians in your rear view mirror as you ride off to the next job.
Candidates must have strong mechanical skills and be able to figure out new problems on their own. If you need to do something 3 times before you are comfortable doing it by yourself, this is not the job for you. If you are confident that your bicycle repair skills are enough to let you fix the space shuttle, we want to talk to you.
For the first 3 months or so, new technicians report to our San Jose warehouse every day. They get to ride with one of our senior techs and listen to endless stories about how they rescued a princess while fixing a waste oil pump. After we are sure they know the difference between left and right handed Crescent wrenches, technicians are released into the wild on their own.
You don’t need to have past experience in this field, but you do need self-confidence, mechanical ability, and at least 3 years experience doing some type of field diagnostic work. We are looking for people who know their righty-tighty from their lefty-loosey, know that cursing at a problem will not fix it, and take pride in the work they do. Our service techs work a 4 day week. They are afraid to tell us what they do the other 3 days.
