Position: Field Support Technician / General Laborer
Location: Bay Area (multi-family renovation projects)
Employment Type: 1099 Subcontractor / Hourly
About the Role
Baywire Electric is seeking a reliable and skilled handyman or jack of all trades to support multi-family renovation projects. This position is ideal for someone who has a variety of trade skills and can handle day-to-day repair and renovation tasks with minimal supervision. You’ll be working closely with our team to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to code.
Responsibilities:
Perform general repair and remodel tasks in occupied and vacant units
Handle minor carpentry and basic repair tasks
Assist electricians with light demolition, fixture installations, and finish work
Perform demolition work as needed
Safely operate hand and power tools
Maintain a clean and organized job site
Follow instructions from project leads and adapt to changing priorities
Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or extensive knowledge in general construction
Strong knowledge of basic rehab projects
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders
Reliable transportation and basic tool set
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and honesty
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Must have a valid ID and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
All applicants must pass a background check
Preferred:
Experience in apartment or multi-family remodels, or apartment maintenance
Familiarity with framing, drywall, electrical, and plumbing
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate: $25–$35/hr DOE
Paid bi-weekly as 1099 subcontractor
