We are an environmental consulting firm based in Santa Cruz that works primarily in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, and Monterey counties. We are looking for a Field Technician to advance and develop soil boring test holes, collect soil samples and data at various locations in each county. The sites often require hand-digging and auguring on steep hillsides, so physical strength and endurance are necessary while working in the summer heat or cold/wet conditions. A vehicle, all equipment, and job training will be provided.
Our Field Tech averages around 18-24 hours per week, however, there may be the opportunity to increase the number of hours worked in the future.
The starting pay is $26.00 per hour.
You must have a good driving record and a current driver’s license.
Applicants must be detail oriented and able to collect data in an accurate manner. Basic math skills are required.
Ability to work independently with integrity and to stay on task is a must. Some communication with clients and regulatory inspectors is required so good communication skills are helpful.
This position may offer the opportunity to perform additional tasks so, experience with drafting and graphic design software is a plus.
Must be able to easily lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
