Job Opportunity: Full-Time Maintenance Technician Needed!
Location: Various locations throughout downtown SF
Pay: $26.84 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week, including weekends as needed
Are you a skilled maintenance technician looking to make a difference? Join Conard House, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to building welcoming communities and empowering individuals. We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our Property Management Department.
What You'll Do:
Respond to tenant work requests, perform maintenance tasks including light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and more.
Conduct inspections of common areas and units, ensuring a safe and attractive environment for residents and staff.
Maintain records of work orders and certifications, and coordinate with outside contractors when necessary.
Work at multiple sites, providing a range of services to our community.
Qualifications: Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in building maintenance and repairs, preferably in a residential hotel or similar environment. Experience in working with diverse populations is a plus.
Certification: Maintenance Technician Certification is required, or candidates must be willing to complete the first available certification course.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge and proven ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including:
Light carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
HVAC system maintenance and diagnostics, including hot water systems.
Appliance repairs and troubleshooting.
Equipment Proficiency: Familiarity with maintenance equipment and power tools, ensuring safe and effective operation. Experience with fire alarm and suppression systems, boiler maintenance, and emergency systems is highly desirable.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to work under pressure, handle emergencies effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet necessary timelines. Strong troubleshooting skills to address a range of maintenance issues efficiently.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically capable of traveling to multiple locations and lifting up to 50 lbs. This includes climbing ladders and working in confined spaces when necessary.
Licensing: A valid California Driver's License with a good driving record is preferred, as travel between various sites is required.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with tenants, contractors, and team members, fostering a positive work environment.
Work Ethic: Must carry a cell phone and be available for on-call duties, including responding to after-hour emergencies. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
