San Francisco-based stable and growing property Management Company has an opening for a maintenance technician to oversee upkeep of 100+ residential units located throughout the city of San Francisco. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with competitive vacation/PTO accrual and 401K plan, and eligibility for our annual bonus program.
SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician position involves repair and preventive maintenance to the residential units while providing highest quality service to our tenants. A typical day involves driving a company truck to 3-5 jobsites within the city of San Francisco and as necessary, assisting our construction crews with materials. The position requires occasional evening, weekend and on-call shifts.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
-Completing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical, and related maintenance activities
-Plumbing repairs: clearing drains, sewer lines, garbage disposal, and resolve minor leaks
-Electrical repairs: changing outlets, fuses, trouble-shooting circuit breaker panel
-General repairs & maintenance: Graffiti & trash removal & lock changing, screens, blinds, etc.
-Performing apartment turnovers to company standards
-Ensuring positive resident interaction and satisfaction when working in their home
-Generate maintenance reports, track work order status and completion and follow up with tenants and vendors
-Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noises
-Other duties and projects as assigned or requests directed by property manager
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
-Thorough knowledge of the methods, practice, tools and material used in general maintenance and repair work including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall repair and painting
-Organizational skills in preparation of all materials necessary for service visits
-Ability to assess and prioritize various situations to determine importance and urgency and make clear decisions accordingly
-Ability to complete work orders in a timely manner
-Good demeanor to interface with tenants and promote resident retention
-Ability to keep records and make basic reports
-Work environment involves moderate physical activity, and some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require ability to understand and follow basic safety procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Valid California driver's license with good driving record
-Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
-Residential Maintenance experience preferred
-Requires basic use of computers, preferably in PC, windows based operating environment
-Requires handling average weight objects up to 50 (fifty) pounds and standing or walking for more than six (6) hours a day
Must be able to occasionally work evening, weekend and on-call shifts
